hi i am installing libvirt-0.9.12. i am getting following error: libvirtd: /usr/local/lib/libvirt.so.0: version `LIBVIRT_PRIVATE_0.9.12' not found (required by libvirtd) how to solve this one. i am installing from my repositary itself. the same package is working fine for my friend. suggest me some solutions. i googled but i have not get any related stuffs. [libvirt-users] Strange results with QoS definition

Hi I'm currenty testing network QoS implementations stumbled upon quite strange results when using QoS definitions inside the virtdomain xml. I'm testing bandwidth from a virtdomain towards a hardware server connected to the same switch, both connected to gigabit ports. Iperf tells me the bandwidth is around 939 Mbit/s. I added this to my virtdomains xml: <bandwidth> <inbound average='1280'/> <outbound average='1280'/> </bandwidth> This should limit the bandwidth to around 10 megabit/s 1280 kilobytes/s, however i get only around 5.14 Mbits/sec... Has anyone an idea what causes this difference? [libvirt-users] virtio channel socket bind error

Hi All, My intent is to make virtio unix channel work. I could configure the XML and launch VM and could see the port in /dev/virtio-ports <channel type='unix'> <source mode='bind' path='/tmp/appl_port'/> <target type='virtio' name='appl_port'/> <address type='virtio-serial' controller='0' bus='0' port='1'/> </channel> When I see on the host, the unix socket is already binded and is in listening state. echo "test this" > /tmp/appl_port bash: /tmp/appl_port: No such device or address netstat -nax | grep appl_port unix 2 [ ACC ] STREAM LISTENING 15302258 /tmp/appl_port 1) Can some one please have a look and help me fix this. 2) if I don't set source mode to 'bind', it gets set to 'connect' in xml and VM fails to boot up. I would like to understand the different types of source mode. Hi all:Me being new to libvirt, this may sound very trivial to you. Any help is welcome. I have deb7u1, with xen4.1.4 and libvirt 0.9.12 (since those are the latest available thru apt utility) . I have enabled xen-unix-server as well as xen-http-server in the /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp file. Hi Team, I have written below code to get the VM state at run time. I found, though the VM is in shut-off state, when I use the function virDomainGetInfo(); I get state as running. Could you please let me know what wrong I am doing. To know the actual VM state I used 'virsh list' and it clearly shows the VM is in shut-off state. Please find the log and code snippet below. [libvirt-users] SR-IOV Pool Availability

If I'm using the SR-IOV Pool assignment method (from http://wiki.libvirt.org/page/Networking#Assignment_from_a_pool_of_SRIOV_VFs… ), how would I check how many virtual functions are already in use? Is there a method other then looping through all the active guests and determining if they're using the SR-IOV interface?

[libvirt-users] Migrate hangs at 99%

Hello guys! We have a lot of virtual machines and I recently tried out the migrate feature of libvirt. It works like a charm, even without shared storage, but when we try to migrate a VM under a little pressure (a HTTP server gets some 1-5 requests/sec) the migration process hangs at 99%. After we stop the stressing of the VM, the migration immediately finishes. I'm using the following command to migrate: virsh migrate --live --persistent --undefinesource --copy-storage-all --verbose --desturi qemu+ssh://root@DESTINATION/system VM-NAME Do you have any advice on this?
