So, my questions are;
- How do I prevent this from happening as i have tried different
options like changing the "cache" value for the disk template?
_Especially_ if, as it sounds, you regularly have power outages: add a
UPS so that a power outage can be handled gracefully. Anything short
of stopping the sudden host shutdowns from happening will be a
bandaid, not a solution.
(Even if that means just the equivalent of `virsh save` for each
running VM followed by a controlled host shutdown, to be restored once
mains power returns.)
That said, when this does happen in the guest, then can you, from the
host, access the relevant portions of the backing storage? Because it
certainly sounds to me based on what you show like the _real_ problem
has nothing to do with the VM guest, but with the VM's storage, and
the VM guest fsck is essentially trying to do the best it can of a bad
situation.
