last time I tried to take external atomic disk only snapshot I
encountered bugs
(
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1004606) and
gave up.
In my box I have virsh 1.2.2 and despite this
$ virsh blockcommit test hda --active --verbose --pivot
error: command 'blockcommit' doesn't support option --active and --pivot
If it's possible in your environment, I'd really recommend you to switch
to try a newer libvirt version - 1.2.8 or above.
