This reverts commit 8d75e47edefdd77b86df1ee9af3cd5001d456f73. Having hostuuid in migration cookie is a nice bonus since it provides an easy way of detecting migration to the same host. We always expose individual bits from flags as separate options rather than exposing a raw flags options. Since virNodeSuspendForDuration does not currently support any flags, the only way of using this --flags options that would not fail is "--flags 0", which is equivalent to omitting the option. I did a 'git add .', then realized that it ended up trying to add the emacs lock file for a corresponding file that I had not yet saved all my edits; thankfully I noticed it in time. Since we already exclude other temporary files, this makes the most sense for preventing such a mistake from actually hitting upstream. * .gitignore: Add .#* to the exclude list. --- If you don't like this patch, then I will be updating my local .git/info/exclude file; I could understand someone wanting to reject this patch on the grounds that 'make' does not create any temporary files under this name, but only my choice of editor (and not everyone shares that choice in editor). [libvirt] [PATCH] network: fix networkValidate check for default portgroup and vlan

This was found during testing of the fix for: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=868483 networkValidate was supposed to check for the existence of multiple portgroups and report an error if this was encountered. It did, but there were two problems: 1) even though it logged an error, it still returned success, allowing the operation to continue. 2) It could exit the portgroup checking loop early (or possibly not even do it once) if a vlan tag was supplied in the base network config or one of the portgroups. This patch fixes networkValidate to return failure in addition to logging the error, and also changes it to not exit the portgroup checking loop early. The logic was a bit off in the checking for vlan anyway, and it's intertwined with fixing the early loop exit, so I fixed that as well. [libvirt] [PATCH] xml: print uuids or shell-escaped names in the warning

In the XML warning, this prints uuids for domain names with special characters in them and shell-escaped names for other elements (like snapshosts and networks) with special names. --- When saving snapshots, the domain name is appended to the "snapshot-edit" command, so using a domain name that needs escaping would lead to something that can't be just fed to the shell. diff to v1: xml: shell-escape domain name in comment The function was changed to shell-escape ']>' instead of '--' as the latter is more likely to happen. These three patches are generated when trying to make use of libvirt apparmor security driver in openSUSU 11.4. Commit 12ad7435 added new functions (virNodeGetMemoryParameters, virNodeSetMemoryParameters) into the section of the file reserved for deprecated names. V2 Changes: Added python binding for virNodeGetCPUMapFlags. Removed RFC stanza. Rationale: In order to use the APIs listed below it is necessary for a client to know the maximum number of node CPUs which is passed via the maplen argument. virDomainGetEmulatorPinInfo virDomainGetVcpuPinInfo virDomainGetVcpus virDomainPinEmulator virDomainPinVcpu virDomainPinVcpuFlags The current approach uses virNodeGetInfo to determine the maximum CPU number. This can lead to incorrect results if not all node CPUs are online. The maximum CPU number should always be the number of CPUs present on the host, regardless of their online/offline state. The following example illustrates the issue: Host has 3 logical CPUs, 1 socket, 3 cores, 1 thread. Guest has 1 virtual CPU and is started while all 3 host CPUs are online. $ virsh vcpuinfo guest VCPU: 0 CPU: 0 State: running CPU time: 35.4s CPU Affinity: yyy $ echo 0 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online $ virsh vcpuinfo guest VCPU: 0 CPU: 0 State: running CPU time: 35.5s CPU Affinity: y- The correct display for CPU affinity would have been y-y, as the guest continues to use CPUs 0 and 2. This is not a display problem only, because it is also not possible to explicitly pin the virtual CPU to host CPUs 0 and 2, due to the truncated CPU mask. It's the callers responsibility to deallocate cpumap using free(). If online is non-NULL, the variable pointed to will contain the number of online host node CPUs. The variable flags has been added to support future extensions and must be set to 0. Clients can use virNodeGetCPUMapFlags to properly determine the maximum number of node CPUs and their online/offline state. Remarks: This series implements the QEMU and test drivers. Qemu has added some new feature flags. This patch adds them to libvirt. The new features are for the cpuid function 0x7 that takes an argument in the ecx register. Currently only 0x0 is used as the argument so I was lazy and I just clear the registers to 0 before calling cpuid. This isn't really an error condition IMO. Of course the selinux API could be erroring for some other reason but hopefully that's rare enough to not need explicit handling. There are no other changes. ************************************ PATCH 01/11 defines a couple new macros/functions to simplify inserting/deleting items in the middle of an array. The remaining patches switch over various pieces of existing code to use these new macros rather than directly calling memmove, etc. There are several other places where these macros could *almost* be used, except that they use the model of pre-allocating the larger array, then performing a bunch of operations (that may fail) and then finally move items around in the array and adjust its count. I'm wondering if I should add a flags arg to these to allow for specifying a "Don't realloc" flag - when it was given, the memory allocation operation would be presumed already done (in the case of insert) or to be done after return (for delete). Any opinions on that? (such as maybe "that's too many options!")
