[Libvir] Updating to the newest libvirt
by Spencer Parker
I am running CentOS 5 on a 64 bit system and when I try to install via
Yum...the newest version I can get is 0.2.3-9.el5. When I try to
install with RPM's it just throws up conflicts. is there a newer
version of libvirt that I can install onto CentOS 5...or am I just
confusing things.
Thanks again for helping this newbie out...

[Libvir] RPM build issue
by Vadim Zaliva
Hi!
I am trying to build libvirt-0.4.1 on Centos 5.1/i386 from SRPM.
I am getting following error:
RPM build errors:
File not found: /var/tmp/libvirt-0.4.1-root/usr/libexec/
libvirt_parthelper
Any suggestions?
Sincerely,
Vadim

[Libvir] [PATCH] add error message for the case of the vcpupin command fails.
by S.Sakamoto
Hi,
I try follow,
# virsh vcpupin guest_dom AAA 0,1

There is no processing to output an error-message,
when vshCommandOptInt become an error.
I make the patch to solve this problem.
Thanks,

[Libvir] [PATCH]: Make iSCSI login actually work
by Chris Lalancette
Hello,
I mentioned this before, but this patch must have been dropped when Dan
committed storage stuff to CVS. In order for iSCSI login to work properly, you
must properly --sendtargets before trying to login, otherwise your logins will
fail. This patch just adds a --sendtargets command right before the login to
make sure things succeed.

[Libvir] ANNOUNCE: ocaml libvirt bindings version 0.4.1.0
by Richard W.M. Jones
I'm pleased to announce the release of version 0.4.1.0 of the ocaml
libvirt bindings. You can download them from here:
http://libvirt.org/ocaml/
Some highlights from amongst the large number of changes since 0.4.0.3
was released:
- libvirt bindings:
Complete support for storage API matching libvirt 0.4.1.
- virt-df:
Finished off a demo of this program.
- virt-top:
Supports QEMU/KVM hard drive stats.
- virt-ctrl:
Restructured the interface a great deal so connecting to local
and LAN hypervisors is much quicker and easier.
Supports Avahi for zeroconf detection of remote libvirt instances.
Collects historical data for graphing.
- documentation
Lots of updates and examples.
List of dependencies made simpler to understand.
Rich.

Which version of virt-top is this?
Script mode is designed to run forever. If used in conjunction with
--csv then you'll get an ever longer CSV file. But you also add
either '-n <iterations>' or '--end-time <time>'[1] to make it stop
early (or just kill it instead).
For example:
virt-top -c test:///default --script --csv /tmp/test.csv -n 10
will run for 30 seconds, produce a 11 line (10 measurements + title)
CSV file, and then exit. If it _doesn't_ do that, then please file a
bug.
The virt-top manpage explains all the options in some detail.
Rich.
[1] Various <time> formats as explained in the manpage.

[Libvir] many more translatable strings need to be marked
by Jim Meyering
I've found many more strings that should be marked for translation.
The first part of this change is to add to the list of
diagnostic-printing function names in Makefile.maint and to
make that list more readable.
I marked some strings, but am leaving the rest, for now. Running "make
sc_unmarked_diagnostics" shows over 300 strings remaining to be marked
with _(...). However, while marking them is a big step, it's not all.
Once they're all marked, then we'll have to go back and with the help
of the right build options (--disable-nls and -Wformat -Wformat-security),
or just some judicious grepping through your patch,
add "%s" before each _("...") string that contains no "%" directive.
Mark many more strings for translation.
* Makefile.maint (err_func_re): Add to the list and make it readable.
* po/POTFILES.in: Add src/util.c and src/xm_internal.c, and sort.

[Libvir] virsh list

Am I the only one who finds the default behaviour of virsh list really
confusing and annoying? That is, I would like --all to be the default.
