The util/virtpci.c is definitely not my area of knowledge, though it feels like there's probably a more general way to make these changes. Having different structs, fuction signatures and a lot of #ifdefs tells that this probably needs to be refactored to support more clear platform-specific implementations? Hopefully somebody could provide some suggestions what's the best way to do that. I replaced working with PCI via libpciaccess
