This was indeed the case. Libvirt was failing to parse the forwarddev on restart.
Bit of a mistake in my code. Now resolved.
Guess what - that argues that when we commit your code, we should also
commit an xml file somewhere under the tests directory that stresses
this particular usage of forwarddev, to make sure that we don't repeat
the problem later :)
