Well, the example I would use to justify this is:
char *err = get_err_msg()
printf("Error occurred (%s)")
would print:
Error occurred (No such file or directory.)
Which just looks dumb :)
I think perror() wins the precedent here, anyway, so lets remove the
periods :)
