Darned if I know, then. Perhaps something is grabbing your keyboard
input and doing something untoward with it. Try closing the
virt-manager window and opening it again.
thx you were right. I worked yesterday with vncviewer on a remote
machine. vncviewer grabs the "tab" key and sends it to kvm instead
of to "emulated terminal environment". I tried it here on my
local machine and it works out of the box.
