I'm now using libvirt 1.2.21, qemu-kvm 1.2.0 and live snapshot works.
I'll try out different versions of libvirt and qemu and see the
differences between versions.

In regard to snapshotting (features and stability), I have selected these versions of
libvirt and qemu:
Libvirt >= 1.2.9 (currently 1.2.12)
Qemu = 2.1.0
On Qemu 2.3 and 2.4, I have experienced a regression bug regarding external snapshots. I
haven't tested 2.5 yet. I've read some ware about using an older qemu but I
can't find the webpage anymore. Sorry.
