[libvirt] backport politics to redhat/centos

Hi! I'm need to use CentOS for some project and i want to not modify all my stuff (i'm use plain ethernet devices with bird routing daemon). CentOS have libvirt 1.2.17, does redhat in near feature want to backport my ethernet changes to main branches or not? Sorry for my questions. -- Vasiliy Tolstov, e-mail: v.tolstov@selfip.ru

For official packages you'll probably need to wait till centos/rhel 7.3 is released, when libvirt will likely be rebased to the latest version - Cole

As i know, sometimes redhat backport new features to stable releases, may be someday.... -- Vasiliy Tolstov, e-mail: v.tolstov@selfip.ru

The only updates that go to a released RHEL 7.X release have to be extremely critical: fixing high impact bugs or security issues. I don't think many features are pushed that way... - Cole

I have been building libvirt and other upstream packages for EL7.x since a year. I'm using it for development/testing purposes, maybe this can cover your needs ? https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/jmliger/virt7-upstream/
