ACK - this is slightly more elegant than my attempts at fixing the same line in my recent VPATH build patches (that still aren't perfect, but not for this reason). So, even though it doesn't fix everything that my VPATH patches were trying to tackle, it is a step in the right direction, and is easy to verify.
