Yeah, you should be able to use fcntl and set the O_NONBLOCK flag on the socket, but that would be a custom downstream patch where you'd be on your own. On the other hand if upgrade is not an option for you, then I guess that's your best solution, since everything will start working with (supposedly) only a tiny bit of code. Erik
