Trying to use brctl manually on the same machine:

I'm getting info on what kernel version he's running.
Very odd, this smells like a kernel bug to me. I see no reason why the
'forward delay' parameter should not be available on Sparc, since this
bridge code is not arch specific. Perhaps a missing CONFIG option in
the Fedora sparc kernel build
