I'm using Xen 3.0.0 inside vmware workstation. Would compiling a  3.0.1 kernel help?

Which exact version of Xen ?  There has been an unfortunate tendancy for
Xen to break userspace compatability in the header files between even
minor releases such as 3.0.2 -> 3.0.3 :-(   That said, libvirt is intended
to be capable of working against any Xen 3.0.1 or later, so if there's
bugs we need to fix them.
