[Libvir] How to stop 'make install' clobbering /etc/libvirt/libvirtd.conf

Currently 'make install' clobbers configuration files, in particular /etc/libvirt/libvirtd.conf. It shouldn't. Does anyone know how to persuade automake to stop it from doing this?
