Libvirtd doesn't store any, you really need to poll at the frequency
you consider appropriate,
FYI, you can use 3rd party monitoring software with a libvirt data
collection plugin. We have written plugins for collectd, munin and
nagios - it is trivially to do the same for more monitoring apps
if one of those doesn't suit your needs
