Hopefully phrdina gets a look here - to me things seem fine; however, I
know there's been issues recently with return values, so I just want to
be sure before an ACK
Posting this shouldn't have been a 'followup' (eg, reply to .0) of the
existing stream of patches, rather it should be its own patch.
Otherwise, it can get "lost" in the shuffle of things
I don't mind adjusting the patch in-line before pushing once the other
part of the series goes in.
