is the missing /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/topology/physical_package_id caused by kernel configuration settings?

(CCing libvir-list) I would say that this is a bug in libvirt. Since you are using quite an old version, can you try upgrading to the new libvirt in Fedora 14/15 and see if that fixes it?
